Joy Romero is Vice President of the 787 Division for Vought Aircraft Industries, Inc. She joined the company in October 2007 and leads all aspects of the Boeing 787 program for Vought, including manufacturing, customer relations and operational performance.

Ms. Romero joined Vought from Boeing Commercial Airplanes, where she served as director of 787 North American Supply Chain Integration since June 2007.

Prior to that, Ms. Romero was President of Boeing Canada Operations Ltd. and General Manager of Boeing Winnipeg. As General Manager, Ms. Romero led a production site responsible for more than 1,000 composite parts and assemblies for Boeing 737, 747, 767, 777 and 787 aircraft. The Winnipeg site is the largest aerospace composite manufacturer in Canada and the country’s third largest aerospace facility.

Ms. Romero was Director of Boeing’s Salt Lake City components manufacturing site before assuming the position in Winnipeg, where she was responsible for manufacturing operations, including fabrication and assembly of parts for airplane production as well as out-of-production spares for Commercial Aviation Services. In addition, she spent more than 10 years supporting Boeing military programs, including spares acquisition and component repair for the C-17 Globemaster III and B-1B Lancer aircraft, managing the Operational Support Center, the AOG (Aircraft on Ground) organization, and operation of the Product Support Warehouse and Distribution system.

She began her career with Rockwell International in 1982 as a Project/Design Engineer on the B-1B program and went on to assume positions of increasing responsibilities over the next 25 years.

A graduate of Pepperdine University with a bachelor’s degree in business management, Ms. Romero also earned a master’s in systems management from the University of Southern California and a graduate certificate in advance program management from the Department of Defense Systems Management College.
